Oral Sessions

Schedule and Structure

Important Notice : All delegates making oral presentations with Powerpoint on Monday (7 July) should bring their presentations to the Technicians in Crombie Hall between 14:00-20:00 on Sunday, 6 July for uploading.

We have a full programme for oral presentations, with approximately 290 contributed papers. Oral presentations will be held on Monday (7 July, 1330-1850), Tuesday (8 July, 1330-1850), Wednesday (9 July, 1330-1510) and Thursday (10 July, 0850-1230, 1330-1850). During these times there will be six concurrent sessions. The mornings of Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday will be used for the plenary speakers that are part of the special symposium. Wednesday afternoon (1530-1830) is reserved for the final workshop on research priorities.

A half-day session is approximately 3.5 h (0900-1230; 1400-1730), which includes 30 mins for tea/coffee (180 minutes = 9 speakers, 20 mins each (15+5)).

AV Equipment

The usual range of AV equipment will be available in each room (ppt, ohp, and slides) but we will not be able to support powerpoint for Mac, nor Powerpoint XP. Please bring PowerPoint presentations on CD-ROMs, zip disks (100 or 250 MB), on a laptop to our technicians at least one full day before your session. On Sunday (6 July, 14:00-20:00), a technician will be in Crombie Hall Reception to accept presentations. On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, a technician will based in Fraser Noble G15 between 08:30 and 17:00.

Poster Presentations

We expect about 120 posters to be presented at the meeting. The Poster Sessions will be held between 15:30-16:30 on Monday (7 July) and Tuesday (8 July) in the Student Snack Bar of the Central Refractory, over the tea breaks. Poster presenters will be on hand to discuss their work. We have grouped the posters into 17 themes, and given each poster within a theme a number. To reduce congestion, we request that presenters of posters that have even-numbers be present for the session on Monday, while those that have odd-numbers, be present for the session on Tuesday. Posters can be displayed from 08:00 on Monday (7 July) and must be taken down by 18:30 on Thursday 10 July. The mid-session tea/coffee breaks will also be held in this room. Poster boards are 200 x 100 cm, and will be set as portrait.

Any queries about posters should be directed to atb2003@abdn.ac.uk.

The programme and abstracts for the oral and poster presentations is available in Zipped Word and pdf versions. This text version of the Meeting Booklet also contains a Welcome, Instructions to Presenters and Other Information.
