provides a forum for the discussion of current, sometimes controversial issues. Feature articles and book reviews provide resources for tropical biologists with diverse interests. Tropinet also brings news of meetings, new publications, grants, and employment opportunities to tropical biologists. Launched with a grant from the World Wildlife Fund, Tropinet is published by the ATBC jointly with the Organization for Tropical Studies (OTS) and is distributed to members of ATBC and to other interested readers in electronic format, via a web link or by a download from the ATBC website.

Starting 2005 is brought out three times a year - in January, May and September. Prior to 2005 it was issued four times a year.
